Mikz Alliance members are firmly committed to the security and protection of Personal Information of our Users and their contacts. The Mikz Alliance Privacy Policy describes how Mikz Alliance members will collect, use, share and process Personal Information. Capitalized terms not defined in this Privacy Policy are defined in the Mikz Alliance Terms of Use.

  1. GENERAL

    1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files containing a string of characters that can be placed on Your computer or mobile device that uniquely identify Your browser or device. Cookies remember information about activities on the Platform to make a User’s visits to the Platform more enjoyable and valuable by providing a customized experience and recognizing a User’s preferences. If a User has chosen to disable cookies on his or her browser, some of the functionality of the Platform may be lost. Certain services provided by Mikz Alliance, require that cookies are enabled in a User’s browser and cannot be used when cookies are disabled.

      Types of cookies:

      Flash Cookies

Flash cookies (also called Local Shared Objects or LSOs) are data files similar to cookies, except that they can store more complex data. Flash cookies are used to remember settings, preferences, and usage, particularly for video, interactive gaming and other similar services.

      Web beacons or clear pixels

Web beacons are small graphic images on a web page or in an email that can be used for such things as recording the pages and advertisements that a User selects, or tracking the performance of email marketing campaigns.

      Web server logs

Web server logs are records of activity created by the computer that delivers the webpages requested by the User’s browser. For example, a web server log may record the search term entered or the link clicked to bring a User a webpage. The web server log also may record information about a User’s browser, such as IP address and the cookies set on the browser by the server.

      Device information

We may collect information about the mobile device or computer used to access the Platform, including without limitation the hardware model, operating system and version, browser type, unique device identifiers and mobile network information.

    2. What are cookies used for?

Cookies allow a site or services to know if Your computer or device has visited that site or service before. Cookies can then be used to help understand how the site or service is being used, help You navigate between pages efficiently, help remember Your preferences, and generally improve Your browsing experience. Cookies can also help ensure marketing You see online is more relevant to You and Your interests.

    3. What types of cookies do we use?

There are generally four categories of cookies: “Strictly Necessary,” “Performance,” “Functionality,” and “Targeting.” We routinely use all four categories of cookies on the Service. You can find out more about each cookie category below.

      1. Strictly Necessary Cookies. These cookies are essential, as they enable You to move around the Service and use its features, such as accessing logged in or secure areas.

      2. Performance Cookies. These cookies collect information about how You have used the Service, for example, information related to the unique username You have provided, so that less strain is placed on our backend infrastructure. These cookies may also be used to allow us to know that You have logged in so that we can serve You fresher content than a user who has never logged in. We also use cookies to track aggregate Service usage and experiment with new features and changes on the Service. The information collected is used to improve how the Service works.

      3. Functionality Cookies. These cookies allow us to remember how You’re logged in, whether You chose to no longer see advertisements, whether You made an edit to an article on the Service while logged out, when You logged in or out, the state or history of Service tools You’ve used. These cookies also allow us to tailor the Service to provide enhanced features and content for You and to remember how You’ve customized the Service in other ways, such as customizing the toolbars we offer in the right column of every page. The information these cookies collect may be anonymous, and they are not used to track Your browsing activity on other sites or services.

      4. Targeting Cookies. Mikz Alliance, our advertising partners or other third party partners may use these types of cookies to deliver advertising that is relevant to Your interests. These cookies can remember that Your device has visited a site or service, and may also be able to track Your device’s browsing activity on other sites or services other than Mikz Alliance. This information may be shared with organizations outside Mikz Alliance, such as advertisers and/or advertising networks to deliver the advertising, and to help measure the effectiveness of an advertising campaign, or other business partners for the purpose of providing aggregate Service usage statistics and aggregate Service testing.

    4. How long will cookies stay on my device?

The length of time a cookie will stay on Your computer or mobile device depends on whether it is a “persistent” or “session” cookie. Session cookies will only stay on Your device until You stop browsing. Persistent cookies stay on Your computer or mobile device until they expire or are deleted.

    5. First and third party cookies

First-party cookies are cookies that belong to Mikz Alliance, third-party cookies are cookies that another party places on Your device through our Service. Third-party cookies may be placed on Your device by someone providing a service for Mikz Alliance, for example to help us understand how our Service is being used. Third-party cookies may also be placed on Your device by our business partners so that they can use them to advertise products and services to You elsewhere on the Internet.

    6. How to control cookies

Most browsers allow You to control cookies through their settings preferences. However, if You limit the ability of websites to set cookies, You may worsen Your overall user experience, since it will no longer be personalized to You. It may also stop You from saving customized settings like login information.

    7. What to do if You don’t want cookies to be set or want them to be removed?

If You don’t want us to use cookies when You visit the Platform, You can opt-out of some cookies on Your settings page. In order for us to recognize that You have opted out of cookies, we have to place our opt-out cookie on Your device so we can know not to set other cookies the next time You visit. If You do not want to receive cookies, You can also change Your browser settings on Your computer or other device You’re using to access our services. If You use the Platform without changing Your browser settings, we’ll assume that You’re happy to receive all cookies on the Platform. Most browsers also provide functionality that lets You review and erase cookies, including all our cookies. Please note that the Platform will not work properly without cookies.
